Restaurant Review: Bite Contemporary Cuisine

Hailed as one of the Top 50 Best Restaurants in Manila by Spot.ph, Bite Contemporary Cuisine is a must-visit boutique restaurant in the heart of Makati City. Bite has recently opened its doors to the public and I was one of the first to have tried their food. Renowned celebrity chef Jam Melchor is the owner and head chef of the restaurant. According to Chef Jam, Bite Contemporary Cuisine grew out of a desire to make it easy and affordable to eat delicious, healthy and sustainable food. The meals that we serve are made exclusively with natural and fresh ingredients. No preservatives, no artificial ingredients...just healthy, delicious, affordable, and sustainable dishes.

This quaint restaurant has two floors. It can accommodate about 50 people. Its interiors have this classic yet modern vibe from the floor to the ceiling. There are paintings, mosaics, and plants everywhere which give customers this relaxing feel. Air-conditioning and lighting are sufficient. They have very courteous servers/attendants as well. They also have a clean and intricately designed washroom upstairs.

When it comes to food, they serve Asian fusion. There's quite a lot to choose from. We ordered kaldereta, kare-kareng tadyang, organic Pinoy pizza, salmon belly, pasta with anchovies, and more. All tasted great. The kaldereta was my personal favorite. The beef just melted in my mouth. Yum!

As for the desserts, we ordered Sansrival, Leche Flan Cheesecake, and Brownie Cake. The Leche Flan Cheesecake was the overall favorite.

Bite Contemporary Cuisine also sells all-natural, organic, and sustainable local products such as sea salts, coffee beans, malunggay cookies, and more, which are perfect as "pasalubong."

Bite Contemporary Cuisine is perfect for families, groups of friends, and yes, lovebirds. Budget needed is about PhP300 per person. It is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM except Mondays. They accept walk-ins, take-outs, reservations, and catering services. Parking is available in front of the restaurant (albeit limited) but you can also park on the street.
