Introducing the Pebble Steel Smartwatch

The Pebble Steel is the premium variant of the original Pebble smartwatch. As its name suggests, its casing is now made of stainless steel and then either gives it a brushed finish for those who want a silver smartwatch, or a matte black finish using a process called physical vapor deposition that's supposedly extra-resilient to scratches. As for its strap, the Pebble Steel includes both a steel strap and a black leather band, which you can use interchangeably.

With the Pebble Steel, you get a 1.26-inch e-paper monochrome display, an estimated 5-7 days of battery life, and 5ATM waterproofing. The screen is now protected with Corning Gorilla Glass, has narrower bezels, and has a new anti-fingerprint coating to help avoid smudges. The Pebble Steel also has an RGB LED, which shows the charging status of the watch. The Pebble Steel will also arrive with some new apps like the new Notifications page.


The Pebble Steel is priced at $249 and will begin shipping from January 28, 2014 with early orders getting free worldwide shipping.
