HTC Reveals Desire 816 and Desire 610

HTC has released two new midrange Android smartphones. The first one is the HTC Desire 816, a top-tier midrange smartphone. It comes with a 5.5-inch display of HD resolution with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The Desire 816 works with HTC BoomSound front-facing speakers, has a 13-MP main camera with an f/2.2 wide angle lens, BSI sensor and the ability to record HD videos. The front-facing camera maxes out at 5-MP with a BSI sensor and f/2.8 wide angle lens, along with HD video recording. Connectivity-wise, there is NFC, DLNA, and HTC connect, along with Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX and Wi-Fi.

The Desire 816 will come with HTC BlinkFeed and Android with HTC Sense right out of the box. There is 8GB of storage space as well as a microSD card slot for up to 64GB of additional storage. It runs with 1.5GB RAM. Also, inside is a 2,600mAh non-removable battery. The HTC Desire 816 will be launched in China starting in March with Android Jelly Bean and Sense 5.5. This device will be made available globally starting April 2014.

Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 610 is being marketed as a midrange smartphone without compromise. The Desire 610 comes with a 4.7-inch qHD display, measuring143.1mm x 70.5mm x 9.6 mm, and is equipped with Android Jelly Bean and HTC Sense right out of the box. This device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

With the Desire 610, you will have two forward-facing speakers with HTC BoomSound and HTC Sense Voice. Up front, there is a 1.3-MP camera with BSI sensor and the ability to record HD videos. On the back, there is an 8-MP camera with f/2.4 and BSI sensor technology to boot. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, and DLNA as well as HTC Connect. This device works with 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE, and will be aimed at Europe first, starting May 2014. There is no official information yet on the pricing of both smartphones.
