Oppo Reveals Snapdragon-Powered R1S Smartphone

Oppo has just unveiled the R1S, which is basically an improved version of its predecessor, the R1. The Oppo R1S now comes with a faster chipset, a higher resolution camera, and LTE support.

Outside, the R1S looks identical to the R1. It even has the same dimensions and weight. Like its predecessor, the R1S packs a 5-inch HD IPS display and 1GB RAM. The similarities end there as it is now powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. Its camera has also been bumped up to 13-MP. While the R1S is now LTE-capable, the dual-SIM support of its predecessor has been dropped.

The Oppo R1S runs on Oppo's Color OS, which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It is now available for pre-order and will come in white and blue color options.
