Affordable Archos 50 Diamond Goes on Sale Early 2015

Archos has officially announced the 50 Diamond, which is an affordable smartphone with high-end specifications. With a 5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS touchscreen display, a 16-MP rear camera with LED flash, and an 8-MP front snapper, the 50 Diamond definitely has 2014 flagship specs. It measures 146 mm x 70.4 mm x 8 mm, and weighs 146g. Ticking inside it is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with an octa-core CPU sporting four Cortex-A53 cores that can go up to 1.7GHz and another four of those that are clocked at only 1GHz.

There is also 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card. It supports Cat.4 LTE and has dual-SIM functionality (dual-active) too. Its battery capacity is 2,700 mAh,  It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. There's no word yet if it will get Android 5.0 Lollipop but given its 64-bit chipset, it most likely will. Given all its monstrous specs, the Archos 50 Diamond will retail for just €199. Unfortunately though, the Archos 50 Diamond will hit the shelves early 2015, which would make its flagship specs outdated by then.
