Restaurant Review: CRISP on 28th

Crisp on 28th is "your hidden neighborhood coffee shop on the quiet 28th street in BGC, facing the park." They serve breakfast food, cafe food, pastries, cocktails, and coffee. They also have a nice outdoor courtyard that's naturally breezy and great for lazing around if you want to feel like you are far away from the busy streets of Manila.

The entire restaurant can probably accommodate about 40 or more individuals. It is air-conditioned and looks very much like a cafe. When it comes to their menu, they offer a lot but it gets confusing as there are breakfast food, then there's pastry then coffee then quinoa salads and more. They do have a washroom inside and it is really clean and nice. The waiters are not very accommodating and seem to busy with work.

We ordered several dishes and started with a dessert, which is the crisp (calamansi) cake. It has different layers and flavors to it but the taste is not extraordinary. For the entree, we had Mmmbop, which is combination of pork, carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, mushroom, kimchi, and brown rice. We also had the Roasted Sambal Chicken Thighs, which consist of chicken with sambal sauce, okra, cucumbers, and brown rice. This one is yummy but then again nothing special to it. Another dish we ordered is the Slow Cooked Pork Loin Herbed Lemon, which comes with marbed potatoes, braised red wine cabbage, and apple sauce with thyme. It was so-so and didn't look appetizing at all. Last but not the least is the Chipotle Quinoa Chicken Salad, which combines different herbs and veggies. For the drinks, we ordered Peach Iced Tea, which tasted like a brewed tea with peach flavoring and ice added. Not good at all.
