Meizu has just announced its newest flagship device - the MX5. It is clad in metal and boasts premium materials. Measuring just 149.9 mm x 74.7 mm x 7.6 mm and weighing 149 grams, Meizu was able to pack a lot of goodies inside its most recent flagship. The Meizu MX5 packs a 5.5-inch AMOLED display of 1080p Full HD resolution, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the recently announced 64-bit true octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo (MT6795T) chipset with 3GB RAM and a PowerVR G6200 GPU. The phablet will come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models. Unfortunately, it isn't equipped with a microSD card slot.

Imaging-wise, there is a 20-MP primary camera on board, using a Sony IMX220 sensor, with an f/2.2 aperture, 6-element lens, dual-tone LED flash and laser auto-focus. It is capable of shooting 100 fps slow-motion videos at 720p and amazing 4K videos, which is encoded in the modern h.265 format, taking less space but with the same quality. Meanwhile, a 5-MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture takes care of selfies and video calls. Connectivity-wise, the Meizu MX5 covers all the essentials and comes with a dual-SIM dual-LTE setup. An updated mTouch fingerprint sensor will also keep the device secure. It is also equipped with the mCharge tech, which charges the phone's 3,150 mAh battery to 25% in just ten minutes.

The Meizu MX5 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop skinned with the latest Flyme 4.5 OS. Pricing starts at $290 for the 16GB model and goes all the way up to $390 for the 64GB model. Still affordable if you ask me. It will come in silver, champagne gold, and deep gray color options.
