Alcatel OneTouch Xess: Supersized Tablet
There were talks of an extra large iPad and Samsung tablets but it was Alcatel that launched the first one. Called the OneTouch Xess, it's a supersized tablet with a 17.3-inch IPS LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution. It measures 416.5 mm x 266.5 mm x 9.15 mm. Ticking inside it is an octa-core MediaTek MT8783T chipset with 2GB RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 10,000 mAh battery will keep its lights on.
Aside from its incredibly large screen, the Alcatel OneTouch Xess comes with a built-in kickstand that can stay locked at various angles (30 degrees, 50 degrees, and 70 degrees) so that you don't have to hold it. There's also a built-in stylus, which can be used for signing, annotating, and drawings. It's also got dual JBL speakers that max out at 3 watts. Alcatel said that this tablet is aimed at culinary enthusiasts and family-oriented individuals who can use it at home and at work. There's no information yet on pricing and availability.
