Samsung Gear Fit 2 & IconX: Wearable Music Player

As expected, Samsung announced two brand new wearable devices: the Gear Fit 2 and the Samsung Gear IconX. Both wearables track fitness data and play music. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 now has a more ergonomic design but still packs a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display of 216 x 432 pixel resolution. It has a built-in heart rate monitor, in addition to a new embedded GPS sensor. It will also monitor distance, speed, calories, steps, and more. In terms of processing power, the Gear Fit 2 has a dual-core Exynos 3250 processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It is also dust and water resistant (IP68 certified) and sealed inside is a 200 mAh battery (good for up to 3 days of usage). It runs Tizen OS but is compatible with Android 4.4 KitKat-powered devices and above. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will come in three color variants: black, blue and pink, and will come in two wristband sizes: small and large.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Gear IconX looks more like wireless earbuds but can also monitor fitness data like distance, speed, steps, heart rate, and calories. It also syncs with Samsung's S Health App through Bluetooth. The Gear IconX earbuds are activated by simply placing them in your ears, and include a Voice Guide feature for feedback on your workout progress. It has a 4GB internal memory, which can store up to 1,000 songs. It is said to last 3.5 hours when listening to stored music and 1.5 hours when streaming music through Bluetooth. It is splash-resistant and will be available in three color variants: black, white, and blue.
