Oppo R9s & R9s Plus Have Arrived

In China, Oppo took the wraps off the R9s and R9s Plus, which are successors to the R9 and R9 Plus, respectively. The main changes can be found in the camera. The R9s duo sport a Sony-made 16-MP primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture, electronic image stabilization (for the R9s), optical image stabilization (for the R9s Plus), 4K video recording support, phase detection auto-focus, and an LED flash. In front, another 16-MP camera can be found with an f/2.0 aperture. Anyway, the Oppo R9s is the smaller of the two, packing a 5.5-inch 2.5 curved Gorilla Glass 5 display of 1080p Full HD resolution. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage, which also doubles as a second SIM slot. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, and a fingerprint scanner are on-board. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Color OS 3.0 on top and a 3,010 mAh battery will keep its lights on, which also supports VOOC fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Oppo R9s Plus has a larger 6-inch display of the same 1080p Full HD resolution. Ticking inside is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset with 6GB RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. It has the same connectivity options and software as the R9s but comes with a larger 4,000 mAh battery. Both devices will be offered in black, gold, and rose gold. Oppo R9s will retail for $415 while Oppo R9s Plus will set you back $519. There's no word yet if they will be sold outside of China

Til then...
