Moto G5 & Moto G5 Plus: Camera-Focused

Lenovo unveils the new Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. Both sport a metal build and share an overall similar design. The Moto G5 is the smaller of the two, packing a 5-inch IPS LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution, covered with Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 7 Nougat out of the box. Imaging-wise, it comes with a 13-MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus, and an LED flash. It also has a 5-MP wide-angle front-facing shooter, with an f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity-wise, the Moto G5 brings in LTE, dual-SIM support, FM Radio, and a fingerprint scanner. A 2,800 mAh removable battery will keep its lights on, which will charge the smartphone at 10W. The Moto G5 measures 144.3 mm x 73 mm x 9.5 mm and weighs 144 grams.


Meanwhile, the Moto G5 Plus has a marginally larger 5.2-inch IPS LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution, covered with Gorilla Glass 3. Ticking inside is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with 2GB/3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 7 Nougat out of the box. When it comes to imaging, the Moto G5 Plus packs a 12-MP dual-pixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture, auto-focus, 4K video capture support, and dual-tone, dual-LED flash. It also has a 5-MP front-facing shooter, with an f/2.2 aperture. Connectivity-wise, it has LTE, dual-SIM support, an FM Radio, and a fingerprint scanner. The Moto G5 Plus measures 150.2 mm x 74 mm x 9.7 mm and weighs 155 grams. A marginally bigger 3,000 mAh, which supports TurboPower charging, will keep its lights on. Both the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will be sold in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. The Moto G5's price starts at €199 while the Moto G5 Plus will set you back €279.
