Gionee A1 & A1 Plus Debut at MWC

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee introduced two new smartphones (or phablets): the A1 and the A1 Plus. These new smartphones give emphasis on big batteries, better selfies, and better audio quality. Starting with the Gionee A1, which packs a 5.5-inch AMOLED display of 1080p Full HD resolution and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat with the Amigo OS on top. It sports a 13-MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus, and LED flash. It also has a larger 16-MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture. In terms of connectivity, it supports LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, and dual-SIM support. It also has a fingerprint scanner on board. A large 4,010 mAh battery will keep its lights on. The Gionee A1 will come in three colors: Gray, Black, and Gold. It will hit the shelves March 2017 for EUR 349.

Meanwhile, the Gionee A1 Plus comes with a 6-inch IPS LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution. It is powered by a more powerful octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Like the A1, it also runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the Amigo OS on top. When it comes to camera, the A1 Plus has a dual-camera setup, one 13-MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus and LED flash, and another 5-MP depth sensing camera. It has a whopping 20-MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It also has the same connectivity features with the A1 with the addition of an IR sensor. It will have a larger 4,550 mAh battery with 18W Ultrafast Charge technology. It also has a MaxxAudio stereo speaker setup. The Gionee A1 Plus will retail for EUR 499 in April 2017.
