LG X Venture Smartphone Goes Rugged

LG announced a new rugged smartphone called the X venture, its second X line smartphone for the year. The LG X venture comes with IP68 water and dust resistance and MIL-STD 810G certification. It also has a behemoth 4,100 mAh battery, which is said to last 24 hours on a single charge. And thanks to Quick Charge 2.0, the X venture can charge from 0% to 50% in only 48 minutes.

Other than the features mentioned above, the X venture is your typical lower midrange Android Nougat-powered smartphone. It packs a 5.2-inch LCD of 1080p Full HD resolution. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset with 2GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It sports a 16-MP primary camera with LED flash and a 5-MP wide-angle selfire camera. Connectivity-wise, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LTE.

The X venture comes with a dedicated side button called the QuickButton, which opens the Outdoor Essentials app. The app pack comes with a barometer, compass, pedometer, weather information, push-to-talk capabilities, and a flashlight. The button can also be used to enable Glove Mode. In the US, the LG X venture will be available in the US exclusively through AT&T Next for about $330. It will also roll out in markets like Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
