Samsung Galaxy S5 Active Available on AT&T

The rumored Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has been made official by US carrier AT&T. As its name suggests, the Galaxy S5 Active is the rugged variant of Samsung's current flagship smartphone. It is shock resistant, water resistant, and dust proof. Despite earlier rumors that the phone would be IP68 certified, it turns out that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active has the same IP67 certification of the regular flagship. This means that both variants of the phone can survive a submersion in up to 3.2 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes.

Like the Galaxy S5, the Active variant features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. It also has a quad-core 2.5GHz processor and 2GB RAM, along with 16GB internal storage. The 16-MP camera can be found at the back while a 2-MP snapper is on the front. A 2800mAh battery powers the device and Android 4.4.2 KitKat is pre-installed. As for the pricing, it cost as much as the Galaxy S5 at $199.99 on a 2-year contract.
