Huawei Unveils the MediaPad M2 Tablet

Huawei has announced the successor to its MediaPad M1 tablet - meet the MediaPad M2. It boasts a significant upgrade over its predecessor and now, its body is made of 99.5% metal. The new MediaPad M2 tablet packs an 8-inch display of 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 275 ppi, which is not bad for a tablet. Under the hood is a home-brewed octa-core Kirin 930 chipset with 3GB RAM and 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to camera, Huawei has equipped the MediaPad M2 with an 8-MP primary shooter and a 5-MP front-facing one.

Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and optional LTE are all supported. The MediaPad M2 is even equipped with dual 1-watt speakers and Harman Kardon's Clari-Fi sound technology. The tablet is just 7.8 mm thick with very thin bezels but Huawei was still able to fit a 4,800 mAh battery to keep the its lights on. It will go on sale in China this July 16 and prices start at 1,588 Yuan for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model going all the way up to 2,288 Yuan for the 64GB LTE model. Any takers?
