Xiaomi Redmi 3 Packs 4,100 mAh Battery

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 has been unveiled in China. What sets it apart from competitors is its ginormous 4,100 mAh battery, considering it only has an 8.5 mm thin waistline. The Redmi 3 also packs a 5-inch display of 720p HD resolution. Under the hood is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. It can accommodate microSD cards of up to 128GB capacity. Unfortunately, the microSD card slot shares its place with the second SIM slot, which means that the Redmi 3 is also dual-SIM.

Imaging-wise, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 is equipped with a 13-MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus, and LED flash. In front, a 5-MP camera can be found. The smartphone also supports LTE and Qualcomm's fast charging technology. Like many of the smartphones released today, the Redmi 3 is clad in an all-metal body with a magnesium alloy frame. At the back side, it has this lattice design, made up of 4,166 stars woven together to reflect the arrangement of diamonds.

The Xiaomi smartphone will run MIUI 7, which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Redmi 3 will come in three colors: gray, silver, and gold, and will retail for $105.
