Razer Phone w/ Ultramotion Display & 8GB RAM

Gaming tech company Razer has forayed into the smartphone market with the Razer Phone. At first glance, it looks like your ordinary brick-shaped smartphone like the Sony Xperia with sizable bezels at the top and at the bottom. With a metal body and matte black finish, the Razer Phone packs a massive 5.7-inch display of Quad HD resolution. It sports a more conventional 16:9 screen aspect ratio and has a wide color gamut. Best of all, it is the first smartphone to come with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which the company calls Ultramotion Display. This will give the smartphone smooth animation and zero input lag.

Under the hood, we find Qualcomm's topshelf octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset with a record-breaking 8GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Powering all these is a gigantic 4,000 mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0+ technology. On the software side, the Razer Phone will ship with Android 7.1 Nougat with a promised Android 8 Oreo update. Interestingly, the smartphone will have the Nova Launcher Prime pre-installed giving users tons of customization options and all the trendy features of Android Oreo.

What about its other features? It come with stereo speakers, which somehow justify the large bezels. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Camera-wise, it comes with the trendy dual-camera setup. It has one 12-MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and another 13-MP sensor with an f/2.6 aperture. It also features 2x optical zoom, phase detection auto-focus, 4K video recording, and dual-LED flash. An 8-MP selfie camera can be found in front. When it comes to features, the Razer Phone ticks all the boxes except for one. It ditched the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is quite a bummer. But hey, so does the latest iPhones, HTCs, and more. The Razer Phone is already available for pre-order and will cost $699 in the US and £699 in the UK. There is no information yet if it will reach mainland Asia.
